EU removes U.S. from safe travel list due to COVID-19 surge - Today News Post Today News || News Headlines

BRUSSELS, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) — The Council of the European Union (EU) on Monday recommended that member states of the EU reintroduce restrictions on travellers from the United States due to a surge in COVID-19 infections there.

The decision, which the Council announced through a statement, reversed a decision taken in June when the bloc put the U.S. on the safe travel list just in time for the summer holidays.
